Once you are registered in the system you can give us a call and we’ll help you get scheduled. We will need to verify your pets vaccination records and negative fecal result so once we have them from your veterinarian we should be good to go!

Dog day care is a great way to provide a physical and mental outlet for dog. It is also a way to socialize and play with other dogs in a safe and controlled environment. The term “Small Group Play” defines the size of our play groups. We have no more than 5 dogs in a play yard at a time to ensure safety and individualized attention.

That’s a great question! Doggie Day Care is not for every dog which is why we have a very thorough registration process and put every dog through an evaluation process prior to placing in our Day Care groups. Older dogs, shy dogs, scared dogs, tiny dogs, and aggressive dogs may not be a good fit for our Day Care groups. Our evaluation system helps us determine which environment is “just right” for your dog. Over stimulation is possible for some dogs which can have a negative effect in the whole group dynamic so we keep a close eye on all body language and behavior cues. We keep an open dialogue with our pet parents as to any changes in behavior and we also keep track of any new friends in the pack.

We typically prefer a 4 hour window to screen all dogs. After asking a lot of questions and getting to know your dog we will put him/her to the meet and greet test. We have 2 evaluator dogs scheduled for all evaluations. Bowzer is a medium to large sized dog who gets along well with most other dogs he meets and Ronin is a larger dog with a very calm personality. For small dogs we will have a small dog evaluator dog brought in special. While on leash we will introduce the dogs through a fence and see how they react to each other with a barrier present. Then, while still leashed, we will allow the two dogs to interact in a fenced play yard while on leash. Based on their reaction to each other and after carefully monitoring body language and behavior cues a determination will be made if we can safely allow the two dogs to play with each other. All owners will get a full report on how the evaluation went at check out and discuss any issues that came up

We do prefer that all dogs are spayed or neutered with the exception of our under 6 month guests. Intact females can release pheromones while coming into, and in heat that causes the other dogs all throughout the kennel to stress. This sort of dynamic in the play group would be unacceptable and could potentially be dangerous so we keep a close eye on any changes in the pack. Male dogs can still have lingering testosterone in their system for up to 6-8 weeks after their neuter procedure so we will typically have males dogs wait that amount of time before coming back into the pack. We will also do a re-evaluation to make sure that their behavior is still acceptable for Small Group Play.

We will always act in the best interest of the pet. As we are a hospital affiliated facility we have a doctor on call during most hours of the day. We will contact you immediately if there is an issue with your pet. Dr. Anne, our owner and Head Veterinarian is notified whether we notice a small limp developing or if there is a severe injury. We have trained our staff in Basic Animal First Aid and CPR and we do have Veterinary Technicians on staff often. The hospital is 5 miles down the road in case of emergency.

Day care check in starts around 6:30 to 7am and you will be greeted at the door by one of our friendly Doggie Day Care Specialist. After the leash hand off your dog will be ushered to an outside mulch pen to “go potty.” They are then brought inside to their climate controlled kennel to relax a bit. Play groups start to hit the yards by 9am. The Day Care Specialists will start building play groups based on the amount of dogs that are in and depending on which dogs are compatible with each other. We have multiple play yards both grass and mulch. We have small pools in the summer for splash parties and tires to run through and jump on. There’s plenty of room for fetch, tug, and chase. We’ve got tennis balls, frisbees, and kong toys galore! We have 2 Day Care Specialists in the play yards with small groups of dogs, typically 5 dogs and under. Depending on the weather situation-we do have an indoor play area which fits 3-5 dogs at a time. This play area is climate controlled as well so we can use it for winter time playgroups and rainy days as well! After a 20-30 minute play session we bring the dogs back in for a break and rest. We do a full body check and paw pad check each time we go in and out to make sure we don’t have any minor injuries. Fresh water is ALWAYS available both outside and inside. Our day care dogs get out 5-6 times daily depending on the number of dogs that we have in. This way at discharge time they are mentally and physically tired and happy that they had such a fun day.

That is a great question! We have staff in the building from 6:30am to 8pm however any time we are moving dogs inside or outside the facility into the play yards we will close the gate as an added security measure. If the gate is closed and you are here during business hours please be patient as we will not open the gate until dogs are secure in the play yards or inside.

We love that your pets love coming here! For safety reasons we require all dogs to be leashed or harnessed when on the premises. All cats must be brought into the resort in a pet carrier. We are constantly moving dogs around and we want our kitty guests to stay safe!

We do not discriminate against breeds but we will not allow any dog to enter our daycare if they have a history of aggression or if they FAIL our evaluation process. We keep a close eye on ALL dogs and their behavior cues while they are with us.

Of course! As long as they have completed our interview and evaluation process ahead of time and have been approved for small group play groups. In fact, having the evaluation done on your dog and having them join us for day care is a GREAT way to help your dog get used to being in the kennel. We have quite a few dogs that were nervous boarders. To help reduce stress we recommended a daycare stay prior to boarding and within a few visits these dogs really relaxed and had a great time while boarding with us.

For dogs we require Rabies, Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus (typically given as combination vaccine dhpp or dhlpp), Bordatella-we do require a negative fecal sample within 1 year of boarding as well.
For cats we require Rabies, FVRCP, and recommend a negative fecal as well.
Our puppy protocol varies and is determined based on the age of the pup-we recommend calling and discussing with a Reservation Specialist based on the age of your pup.

We do get this question quite often. While it is NOT a requirement of our kennel to have your dog licensed we do have periodic inspections from our Dog Warden. If they ask to see a dog license for your dog and you fail to produce one you could be subject to a fine. We do not currently sell dog licenses at our facility but you can pick one up easily enough by going online.

Yes we do! For daycare AND boarding we offer multiple pet discounts. Pets must be housed in the same kennel space to be eligible for the discount. We offer multiple size options to meet every sized pet need. There is no discount for multiple pets in our training and grooming departments.

Yes we can! Our staff has been trained to be able to handle oral medication, injection, and topical medication administration. We even do subcutaneous fluids if needed. We offer this for dogs, cats, guinea pigs, and rabbits. There is a daily $3 fee for medication administration-you provide the medication needed for the duration of your pets stay with us.

We actually do recommend that you bring something along that smells like “home.” This helps to calm your pet during their transition into this strange environment. However, if your dog is a chewer or a destroyer when they get stressed you run the risk of them ruining a very expensive pet bed! We have blankets, toys, kongs, and even some elevated beds which our guests can use. If you bring any items along with your pet we will make a list at check in so that we can easily find and return them after your pets stay. Sometimes things get dirty so they will be in the wash or dishwasher so we hope to have them ready to go home by the time you’re picking up!

We try to stick with your pets regular routine as close as possible. We recommend that you bring pre-measured bags labeled for each meal. If you have a large dog that might be a bit difficult so you can bring the whole bag or container you keep it in. We have a storage system in the kitchen where we can store large containers if needed. Bring the treats your pet likes too! If you run out of food while your pet is with us we will feed a house diet of Purina EN, which is a bland gastrointestinal diet. Super easy to digest and very minimal tummy upset for sudden food changes.

We accept cash, personal check, and all major credit cards (3% processing fee for all credit card transactions.) Payment is due at the time of discharge. We will not bill you for services and we do not set up payment plans to covers services. You may put a non refundable deposit down towards your pets stay if you would like.

Fear Free is a comprehensive body of training protocols and guidelines which promote the practice, methods, and tools that calm our guests and create low-stress environments. Basically, Fear Free is about making our resort the warmest, most inviting, and comfortable space possible for our guests and their owners. We use calming pheromones in each of the pet wings, Adaptil for the dog wings, and Feliway for the cat wing. Soft relaxing music is pumped through speakers in all of our pet areas as well which helps calm our guests during their stays. The lights are typically kept low which also helps promote a relaxing atmosphere. We’ve got a lavender garden near our outside mulch pens which provide a pleasant relaxing smell for all to enjoy. Our cat wing is located on our second floor in a quiet space so that they can not hear the dogs barking. If any pet guest is visibly experiencing stress symptoms we do have the option to, (with owners permission) add herbal calming drops to the water or in severe cases Dr. Anne will recommend calming medications to help take the edge off.
